The radius shape of the protective plate enables a better fi t and positioning of the plate against the user’s body. The ballistic materials inside the plate are additionally wrapped with another layer of ballistic material that prevents the uncontrolled scattering of the ceramic and the delamination of the background material due to the pressure caused by the impact of the grains.
Compliance with the standard NIJ STD 0101.04 – protection level IV, with the use of ballistic vests protection level IIIA.
Type IV hard armor or plate inserts shall be tested in a conditioned state with .30 caliber armor piercing (AP) bullets (U.S. Military designation M2 AP) with a specified mass of 10.8 g and a velocity of 878 m/s ± 9.1 m/s.
